Cost? Free to the public to attend, food and wine purchases optional.

INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS & VENUES
Registration to be part of the 2024 Walk will is NOW OPEN. Register here
Are you an artist or venue who wishes to be involved?
We're looking for:
Artists - Exhibitiors, Musicians, Performers
Venues - Galleries, 'Pop-Up' Galleries and Window Galleries
Refuel Stations
Food Outlets

ARTISTS - display your art at a venue in the Milton CBD, or become one of our musical or performance artists
VENUES - If you have space to display art, we'd love to have you onboard. Along with existing galleries, venues with wall space inside can host a 'pop-up' exhibition for the walk and over the festival (we encourage displaying the works for at least a week either side, if possible).
Other venues who only have window space can opt to display art as part of our 'window galleries' (NEW in 2024).
Each venue/artist combo pays a $100 admin/advertising fee ($60 for window galleries) to be included on the website and printed MGW2024 Map.
Artworks at galleries may be for sale, ARTfest takes no commission on these sales.
Venues may collect a commission on works sold - to be negotiated between venue and artists.

What the ‘Galleries’ must do to be involved:
-
Complete the required entry form and payment, providing all necessary details
-
Have art on display, clearly labelled or catalogued
-
Be open for the MGW2024 (N/A for window galleries)
-
Display the venue signage (provided by ARTfest) to be clearly visible to the public
-
Ideally, the exhibiting artist(s) should be at that venue for the duration of the walk
-
If possible, display the artwork for at least the period of ARTfest 2024, so that others who do not attend the walk may still get to see the exhibitions. Longer display times are encouraged.
What the ‘Galleries’ must NOT do:
-
Be closed during the walk (N/A for window galleries)
-
Display art that is offensive or inappropriate
-
Serve alcohol (unless they are also a designated ‘refuel station’ or bar where drinks are sold)
-
Have a launch event as part of the walk - this can be done at another time.
-
Monopolise the crowd in anyway.
Optional
-
Galleries may serve nibbles, but please respect the local eateries by not going overboard with catering as we want to encourage patronage of our hospitality businesses
-
Ambient music in venues - acoustic, background, solos, duos, or low-key bands. Note - we are putting specific music acts around the CBD so we need to respect these musicians in our planning.
-
Anything that helps the overall event, as well as the individual exhibition - ideas welcome!

Refuel Stations
We need licensed premises to be our Refuel Stations.
Walking around Galleries is thirsty work. Who doesn't need a refreshing beverage after (or during) the viewing of so much creativity?
Being a refuel station involves offering discounted beverages (of your choice) to gallery-goers (who will have their own glass).
Food Outlets
To encourage our 'walkers' to patronise the eateries in Milton during or after the walk, we will happliy promote (at no cost) any cafe or restaurant who offers an ARTfest Special for the night.

Other businesses in Milton are encouraged to be open, but not if they are promoting an exhibition in any way.
Only the businesses who are confirmed ‘galleries’ will be listed on the event leaflet/map.
To be listed as a venue as part of the MGW24, you will need to complete the entry form and pay the appropriate venue/artist fee.
